45 RUFFINO | Sustainability Report FY 2021 The composition of the Sustainability & Environment Team Sustainable governance Defining the strategic and operational lines of su- stainability is based on two key elements: 1. The guidelines communicated and shared by the CBI Group; 2. The main requests made by the stakeholders – internal and external – of the Ruffino Group pertaining to issues they regard as most signi- ficant in the environmental, social and econo- mic fields/governance. For more information about the materiality assessment, see the “We respect our history through sustainable inno- vation” chapter; paragraph “Materiality Asses- sment and Stakeholder Inclusivity”. The subsequent management of sustainability aspects calls for the joint participation of several figures and corporate bodies based on the area of responsibility and with an approach based on maximum involvement and integrating sustai- nability into the managerial model. In 2021, the role of CSR & Environmental Sustai- nability Manager was formalized, which over- sees the related function and liaises with two committees: A. E xecutive Committee, directly responsible for the analysis and development of sustainabili- ty issues in the fields of environmental, social and governance; the assessment takes place in specific sessions; B. Sustainability & Environment Team (S&ET), namely the committee tasked with checking environmental compliance and setting out improvement plans. The CEO and certain ad- visors are members of the S&ET. The strategies to be adopted to achieve the tar- gets set are often defined on the basis of propo- sals made by the CBI Group, that is, by the area managers or jointly by the Executive Committee.
